Positions at St Zacharie
De-barker
Must feed the de-barkers with logs and ensure the efficiency of the operation.
Sawyer (Carriage):
Must saw the logs according to the criteria and ensure the efficiency of the operation.
Sawyer (Twin Saws):
Must feed the equipment according to the provided criteria and ensure the efficiency of the operation.
Gang saw edger Operator:
Must feed the equipment and ensure the efficiency of the operation.
Edger/Re-saw:
Must feed the equipment and ensure the efficiency of the operation.
Edger and Gang saw sorting:
Must separate and sort out the pieces according to the criteria and redirect it to the appropriate operation.
Trimmer:
Must cut the boards to a precise length and to the appropriate grade and quality according to the standards requested by the company.
Sorting & Stacking Table
The position of lumber stacker minimum requirements:
- Stacking an approximate volume of 9250 BFT and more or 600 pieces per day.
- Stacking bundles (square package) of up to 52 inches high and 48 inches wide.
- Lifting and pulling 2” x 12” x 16’ pieces and stacking according to criteria.
- Stacking boards weighing up to 73kg or 160lbs (occasionally).
- Strapping the stacks of timber with metal strapping.
- Lifting and pulling the empty sled weighing between 50-70lbs or 23-32kgs.
- Keeping up with the production rates without stopping the production of the mill.
- Being available to help co-workers when needed.
Forklift/Loader Operator:
Responsible for receiving logs, maintaining mill supply, supplying the production, loading the sawn timber and loading residue for shipping.
Scaler:
Plan, organize, structure and scale each load of logs and compile data into a computer. Keep track of quarterly inventory.
Mechanic:
Plan, organize, structure and execute the mechanics of the factory work such as maintenance, repair, prevention, modification and improvement of the equipment.
Electromechanical Technician:
Plan, organize structure, execute and optimize the mechanical control of the plant work such as: maintenance, repair, prevention, modification and improvement of the equipment.
Sharpener:
Plan, organize and execute the work of sharpening the band saws and circular saws as well as sharpening any other knives for different equipment.
Sharpener Aid:
Performs work sharpening that band saws and circular saws alongside the main sharpener.
General worker:
Executes the work required in production and supports any position in need of assistance.
Maintenance:
Ensure the cleanliness of the plant especially the safety of the workplaces of the equipment operators.
Specialized Student:
This position is used as a training period in select career programs depending on the needs of the company.
Unskilled Student:
This position is mainly for light work during the summer season depending on the needs of the company.
Positions at Beauceville
Lumber stacking labourer
- Stack an approximate volume of 9250 BFT and more or 600 pieces per day.
- Stack bundles (square package) of up to 52 inches high and 48 inches wide.
- Lift and pull 2” x 12” x 16 foot lumber and stack according to criteria.
- Stack boards weighing up to 45kg or 100lbs.
- Strap the stacks of timber with polyester strapping.
- Keep up with production without stopping the production of the mill.
- Must be available to help co-workers when needed.
Header/Planer Labourer:
Supply the equipment according the criteria and ensure the efficiency of the operation.
Shaving Bagger Operator:
Ensure the proper operation of the equipment and to prepare the appropriate quantities.
Lumber grader:
Must have certification cards to grade lumber and must grade according to the criteria and standards required by the company.
Kiln dry operator:
Plan, organize and supervise the kiln drying schedules for each wood species.
Planer operator:
Plan, organize, structure and execute processing the wood according to the order book.
Forklift Operator: Unload arriving trucks, feed the production (Planer?) mill, load lumber for shipping and load residues into box trailer trucks.
Moulding Machine Operator:
Plan, organize, structure and execute processing the wood according the order book.
Industrial Mechanic:
Plan, organize structure and execute the mechanical jobs of the mill as well as the maintenance, repair, prevention, modification and improvement of equipment.
Diesel Mechanic:
Plan, organize structure and execute the mechanical work of vehicles and equipment.
Maintenance:
Ensure the cleanliness of the mill especially the safety of the workplaces of the equipment operators.
Positions at Terrebonne
Forklift Loader Operator:
Must unload truck upon arrival, help workers to prepare the orders of the day, load products onto delivery trucks and load the kilns.
Shipping department worker:
Must prepare all orders for shipment as the sales office requires.
Truck driver:
Must possess a class 1 and 3 license and have a minimum of 3 years of experience.
